Holly McArthur

I paint places I love. I’m drawn to dramatic vistas, bold shapes and meditative scenes of nature’s everyday rhythm. The act of creating one of my contemporary mixed media pieces is a dialogue between materials and my memories of places, where each layer adds depth and history. While my initial inspiration is the landscape and the stunning color palettes and shapes it provides, as I work, these influences recede, giving way to a personal exploration of form and texture. I invite viewers to delve beneath the surface and explore with me the power of place.

I show my art locally in group exhibitions and have been juried into exhibits in California and the Midwest. I maintain an active studio practice and am a member of the Wisconsin Visual Artists Association.
