Makenzie Wallace

After graduating high school, I spent two years in college studying social work before deciding to take a gap year. During that time, I started working at a coffee shop and unexpectedly fell in love with the environment. I really enjoyed becoming part of people’s daily routine, getting to know regulars and finding meaning in those small, everyday interactions.

Stepping away from school gave me the space to reconnect with my creative side and explore parts of myself I hadn’t had time for before. I began experimenting with anything I could get my hands on, including photography, painting, and upcycling, just following whatever felt interesting in the moment.

I’m completely self-taught, and over time I’ve developed my own style through a lot of trial and error. I’m drawn to art that feels honest and personal, the kind that reflects real experiences and emotions. For me, creating is a way to stay connected, to myself, to others, and to the world around me.
