Michael J. Zwicky

Painter, sculptor, musician, and recording artist Michael J. Zwicky was a pivotal figure on the Lower East Side of New York City in the 1980s and 1990s. He and his groups, Demo Moe and Scrap Metal Music, were reviewed in publications including The Village Voice, NY Press, and Spin Magazine. His work has been featured in the books The Rivington School: 80s New York Underground (2021) and The Williamsburg Avant-Garde: Experimental Music and Sound on the Brooklyn Waterfront (2023). His commissioned sculptural installation, Drilt! (2021), remains on permanent exhibition at the International Fusion Museum in Easton, Pennsylvania.
