I make functional and decorative wheel-thrown and hand-built stoneware pottery in my home studio in Fitchburg. The inspiration for many of my pottery pieces comes from my love of gardens and small farms. For example, I create pottery baskets that evoke the joy of gathering produce, vases that hold flowers cut from a backyard garden, berry bowls for rinsing and serving strawberries and other berries, pottery pumpkins that last longer than one season, and pottery leaf platters decorative pieces to showcase the textured leaves of rhubarb, cucumber, and other plants. As a potter I like making mugs and other items, too, often altering them with stamps to add additional texture to the work. My pottery is food-safe and with care can be put in the dishwasher, oven, and microwave.
