Nastia Craig

Anastasiya “Nastia” Craig (formerly Chepil) is a Ukrainian-born visual artist and interior designer whose practice is rooted in curiosity, innovation, and material exploration. She began studying drawing, painting, and art history in her hometown of Odessa, Ukraine, and at age 17 moved to the United States to pursue interior design at Cazenovia College and the New York Institute of Technology. Now based in Madison, WI, Nastia works primarily in abstract painting and layered mixed-media collage, blending her own painted and drawn media with found elements to create vivid, intricate, and richly textured compositions.

Her work often incorporates organic shapes, multi-panel formats, and a dynamic interplay of color and form, inviting viewers into immersive visual experiences that challenge expectations and encourage reflection. Influenced by both the natural world and personal narrative, her art bridges her dual backgrounds in fine art and interior design.

Nastia’s work has been featured in solo and group exhibitions at venues such as Promega Corporation, Overture Center for the Arts, Arts + Literature Laboratory in Madison, WI, and the Miller Art Museum in Door County. In 2023, she received the Award of Merit from the Geneva Lake Art Foundation. Her pieces are held in private and corporate collections throughout the United States.
