FOR WISCONSIN ARTISTS AND MAKERS
Apply to Sell at Madison Art Market
Madison Art Market is a curated, year-round space built to bring Wisconsin artists and the community together. We showcase original artwork, prints, and handmade goods in a warm, inviting environment where shoppers can discover unique pieces and artists can grow their reach.
Our mission is to support local makers, celebrate creativity, and create a meaningful shopping experience that connects people with the art and artists who inspire them.
Requirements to Apply
To ensure a great experience for both artists and shoppers, Madison Art Market has a few core requirements:
- You must be a Wisconsin-based artist or maker.
- All work must be created or designed by you, and you must be the primary creator behind the finished product. Digital tools may be used in your process, but you must retain primary authorship of the finished work.
- Items must be made or significantly transformed by the artist. Buying finished products and reselling them (even if slightly altered) is not permitted.
- Products must be retail-ready when accepted. This includes appropriate packaging, branding, or presentation suitable for shelves or tables.
- All pricing must follow Madison Art Market’s price parity policy, meaning prices must match what you charge elsewhere.
How Madison Art Market Works
CONSIGNMENT MODEL
Artist-First Commission Structure
Madison Art Market was built with working artists in mind. Our 67/33 commission split (in favor of the artist) reflects the value of your work and the reality of creating sustainably.
There are:
- No display fees
- No monthly fees
- No upfront costs
You only pay commission when an item sells.
Displays Are Fully Provided
Artists do not need to bring shelving, racks, tables, signage, or display fixtures.
Madison Art Market provides all displays and handles the visual merchandising of your work throughout the shop. Our team curates placement so pieces fit cohesively within the space and are presented in a way that helps them sell.
This means:
- No upfront costs for fixtures or signage
- No transporting or storing display furniture

Built for Long-Term Growth
Madison Art Market exists to help artists grow visibility, not to lock them into exclusivity.
- You retain full rights to your work
- You are free to sell elsewhere
- We aim to complement your existing sales, not replace them
Our goal is to build a supportive, long-term creative community where artists feel respected, fairly compensated, and excited to be part of the shop. This is your work, and you are free to sell it wherever you choose. Madison Art Market exists to help artists expand their reach, not restrict it.
Our goal is to support your long-term success, whether sales happen here, online, or anywhere else.
Thoughtful Review Timeline
Because Madison Art Market is a curated, juried shop and space is limited, we review submissions on an ongoing basis rather than on a fixed schedule.
What this means for you:
- Not all applications are reviewed or accepted immediately
- Every submission is kept on file
- We may reach out weeks or even months later as space opens or as your work aligns with upcoming shop needs
If you do not hear from us right away, it does not mean your work was declined. It often means timing and space are still in motion
