ABOUT THE ARTIST

Bob Hodgson is a retired landscape architect and longtime Madison, WI resident whose life journey has taken him from Iowa to Alaska, Maryland, Arizona, and ultimately Wisconsin. His career in landscape architecture deepened his love for plants and the natural world, while his travels to all seven continents nurtured an eye for beauty across diverse environments. Upon retiring in 2016, Bob embraced watercolor painting, creating semi-realistic and imagined depictions of plants, birds, animals, and landscapes.

CREATIVE PROCESS

Bob works primarily in watercolor, developing his technique through classes and experimentation. His paintings often feature natural subjects and travel-inspired sketches, blending realism with imagination. Each piece reflects his lifelong connection to landscapes, his fascination with plants, and his joy in exploring new places. His work is available as original paintings, fine art prints, and greeting cards.
