ABOUT THE ARTIST

I am a self-taught artist greatly influenced by outsider artists. I began my art explorations with painted furniture, floor cloths and driftwood assemblages. In 2009, I began making Windflower Kinetic Garden Sculptures. The 3D folk art sculptures that are reflective of my current work began in 2023. I am a juried member of both the 14 South Artists Group and the Madison Art Guild.



CREATIVE PROCESS

I create 3D mixed media sculptural representations of people and animals in a style reminiscent of American Folk Art. My work incorporates insulation foam, hand-made paper, fabric, botanicals, feathers, paint and found objects in a whimsical folk art style. Messages are often empowering, inspirational and celebrate strong, confident women. My goal with every piece is to create a unique object that brings you as the viewer and me as the artist, a bit of joy.
